Smartmod Tristar Tester

The Smartmod Tristar tester checks the U2 charging IC, the chip that manages charging and USB data on an iPhone. A failed Tristar is the usual cause of a phone that will not charge, charges only from certain chargers, or is not recognised by a computer, and it is indistinguishable from a worn charging port without a tester. Plugs into the charge port and gives a pass or fail reading in seconds, so you replace the port or the IC on evidence rather than by trial and error.
